Support us in the realization of our debut album

Greetings from the Alindes! Thank you for your interest in our campaign.

Our Project:

In May, on the heels of our success at the International Chamber Music Competition Pinerolo Torino, we hunkered down and recorded our debut CD on the Hänssler Klassik label. The prize we won, in combination with your generosity, will help us get this project fully funded.

We are very grateful for your consideration.

The Album:

  • Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy - Op. 80 in F minor, Op. 81
  • Felix Mendelssohn BartholdyCapriccio in E minor
  • Henry Purcell - Four Fantasies

These pieces are very close to our hearts.

We are passionate about bringing a scholarly approach to everything we interpret. To that end, we have worked intensively with early music specialists to define a sound and aesthetic that we believe to be rhetorically true to the era, despite working on modern instruments and bows.

We think our philosophy is reflected in our sound, and we hope to offer something a little different than what you may have heard before from a modern string quartet.

We have already received the first edits; the final product is expected to be released this fall.

Our Campaign:

We have 40 days to achieve or exceed a goal of 4250€. If we do not raise it in that time, all contributions will be refunded.

We are delighted to offer you a token of our appreciation in return for your support. You can find them on the right of this page for the desktop version, or below if you are on your smartphone.

Many of our friends, fans, and supporters are international, and we are happy to be flexible to accommodate. For example, as one of our offers, we would like to invite you to attend one of our concerts for free. However, if you live, say, across an ocean, we can also record a live concert and send it to you. Lessons or "Guided Tours" of pieces may take place in person or on Skype.

About Us:

For eight years, the internationally acclaimed Alinde Quartet has concertized from Cologne across Europe. The quartet has been a laureate of numerous international competitions, most recently garnering the third prize at the 2018 International Chamber Music Competition Pinerolo Torino— the highest prize ever awarded to a string quartet in the competition’s history— after only one year together in their current formation.

The quartet has been invited to perform across Europe at renowned festivals such as Aix-en-Provence, Verbier, Aldeburgh Residencies, Chamber Music European Meetings in Bordeaux, and Mozartfest Würzburg, and has been received warmly in such halls as Konzerthaus Berlin, the Kölner Philharmonie, WDR Funkhaus Köln (West German Radio Hall), and Festspielhaus Baden-Baden.

Informed by their passions for literature, history, and performance practice, audience interaction is fundamental to Alinde's concert model. On-stage and off, they are avid educators; they make their home at the Ida Bieler Music Academy, where they rehearse, teach, and perform. Educational engagements this summer include leading a collaborative youth orchestra comprised of students from the Ida Bieler Academy and AMA Ensemble (Italy) in an Italian tour of Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro for string quartet and orchestra, as well as heading up the SummerMusicAcademy Schloss Hundisburg, where they will be performing the principal positions in the orchestra and leading sectionals. In a seasons-long tradition, they regularly compose and perform family concerts under the auspices of the West German Radio.

The Alindes have been fortunate to have studied with two of the greatest names in chamber music: Professors Günther Pichler (Alban Berg Quartett) at the Escuela Superior di Musica Reina Sofia Madrid and Eberhard Feltz at the Musikhochschule “Hanns Eisler” Berlin. In the fall they will continue their masters studies in the class of Prof. Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartett) in Basel. Names like Sir Prof. András Schiff, Erich Höbarth, Ferenc Rados, Christoph Richter, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Richard Gwilt, Alessandro Moccia, Lynn Harrell, and Ida Bieler have also provided formative impulses.

The quartet takes its name from Franz Schubert’s setting of D.Fr. Rochlitz’s poem “Alinde” (D904).

We would be honored if you could help us reach our goal in funding this album. We are so excited and hope you will enjoy the fruits of our labor with us!

Thank you in advance for participating, and please feel free to share our project!

With love,

Eugenia, Guglielmo, Erin, & Moritz
